COVID-19 Update from the Alamosa Farmers Market: The Alamosa Farmers Market will begin the season on July 11 and continue through October 10th from 8AM to 1:30PM on the corner of 6th and State. Vendors will accept cash, SNAP (for all approved food items), and Double Up Food Bucks (for fresh produce). It is very important this season for customers to bring small bills for the ease of the Market Vendors as many of our vendors do not take electronic forms of payment.
As an essential business, the Alamosa Farmers’ Market will adhere to all local and state social distancing guidelines and as such will only be allowing vendors selling food products, agricultural goods, and hygiene items at this time. Crafted items will not be allowed to be sold at the market at this time. Additionally, the market will not allow food samples to be handed out nor will it offer live music or on-site kids activities.
Masks and strong social distancing practices will be expected from everyone visiting the market. Hand washing stations will be available to reduce the spread of germs. In order to make social distancing possible, we ask that only one member from each family enter the market. While we understand the importance of the Farmers Market as a means to bringing the community together, we must keep everyone safe during these uncertain times. We appreciate your cooperation.
We are excited for another beautiful season at the Alamosa Farmers Market and we look forward to seeing you there!
The Alamosa farmer's market includes a number of local growers, including local dairy producers and local meat producers who offer organic, grassfed beef, lamb, and yak. Many of the producers are families who want to share their produce so that their lifestyle can continue for future generations. The market has also served as an incubator opportunity for local entrepreneurs who produce baked goods, jams, and jellies.
Located right in the heart of Alamosa's historic downtown shopping district, you will not want to miss the farmer's market. Stop by to complete your experience of the local flavors and cultures of the San Luis Valley. Fill your basket with local and regional produce, baked goods, crafts, and more. There is nothing quite like the sights and sounds of the market or the smell of roasting chilies on a crisp fall morning.
In addition to the great local produce, the market features live music, cultural events, cooking demos, and activities for the whole family. The market runs each Saturday, mid-July through mid-October, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Visit alamosafarmersmarket.org for more details and an event schedule.
