By promoting our region's diverse tourism opportunities we aspire to drive economic development for both Alamosa and the greater San Luis Valley region. Utilizing responsible tourism messaging we further aim to transform Alamosa into an increasingly prominent travel destination while simultaneously supporting our area's vibrant business sector, cultural history, and the entire community. 

We've created this page to establish a digital connection to the restaurants, lodging properties, and many businesses that make up our amazing community. Our goal is to improve the way we work together and ultimately strengthen our community.

What We Do

Our purpose is to drive demand for visitation to Alamosa, which we do through a combination of marketing and destination development. We use a modern, integrated marketing approach, consisting of advertising, digital promotion, social media, public relations, and much more. Our organization prints the Alamosa Visitor Guide, the San Luis Valley Trail Guide, and a host of other promotional materials to inspire visitation to Alamosa and the San Luis Valley.

Event Programming

Event Programming

We lead the organization of the Beat the Heat BBQ, First Fridays, Discover Alamosa, and more recurring events. We also organize programs such as “We Love Our National Park” and “Restaurant Week”, which enhance visitor and community engagement in Alamosa. Furthermore, the Marketing District Board oversees a Marketing Grant that funds projects related to the promotion of tourism, arts & culture and public events.

Alamosa CVB operates the Welcome Center in Alamosa where we aim to enrich the experiences of our visitors and encourage them to extend their stays. Through the Welcome Center and similar marketing avenues, we strive to manage tourism to our community, emphasizing responsible recreation and encouraging off-peak visitation.

Tourism on Tap

Tourism on Tap

We're excited to introduce "Tourism on Tap", a recurring meetup for business and tourism members within our community. Positioned as a casual networking event, this allows us time to connect with one another so we can together strengthen our community as a travel destination.

This gathering takes place at Square Peg Brewerks on the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm. Everyone's invited and there's no RSVP needed-simply show up. We hope to see you there!

Meet the Team

Visit Alamosa is the tourism marketing entity for Alamosa County. Visit Alamosa encompasses both the Alamosa Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Marketing District Board & Tourism Board, who are appointed by the Alamosa County Commissioners. Our organization is funded by a combination of two voter-approved taxes, the Marketing District Tax and Lodging Tax, both of which are paid by visitors to our hotels, RV parks, and short-term rentals.
