Medano Pass Primitive Road - 4WD

Medano Pass Primitive Road is a 22-mile route between the Great Sand Dunes and Colorado State Highway 69. The road is only passable with 4WD vehicles with high clearance due to sections of deep sand, water (Medano Creek) and large rocks. 

Know before you go, and check with the National Forest Service for road conditions as lingering snowpack (among other variables) may affect the opening status of this route into the spring season.
