The 6th annual GREEN CHILE, RED CHILE, and SALSA cook-off will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 on the Adams State University Campus Green as part of the annual Autumn@Adams celebration.
The event will feature the chile/salsa cook-off, jalapeño eating contest, student club vendors, music, and entertainment for the kids including a watermelon seed spitting contest! The public is encouraged to enter. Cash prizes, up to $150 for first place, will be awarded to the top chile/salsa entries, as voted upon by the public who will sample the chile and salsa. A $50 cash prize will also be awarded to the best decorated table with a "chile cook-off" theme. Cost for contestants is $10per category, and $3 for participants tasting and judging the food
