Day 1: ArtScape & High-Desert Glamping

  • 08:30 AM | Breakfast and coffee at Milagros Coffee House– Fresh pastries, tasty breakfast sandwiches and made to order coffee is the best start to any day! Take a look at the local goods for sale and the local artist showcase on display before you leave. 
  • 10:00 AM | The Alamosa ArtScape Tour: Start your journey in downtown Alamosa with a self-guided walking tour of the ArtScape public art program. Wander the streets to find rotating sculptures and massive, vibrant murals that tell the story of the valley and its people.
  • 12:30 PM | Lunch & Local Life: Grab a bite at the Purple Pig Pizzeria & Pub– Fresh, made to order wood fired pizza and tasty wings will get you primed for the rest of the day
  • 03:00 PM | Check-in: Rustic Rook Resort: Drive out to your luxury glamping tent or grain bin. This is where the rugged frontier meets modern comfort.
  • 05:00 PM | Use the on site grills to prepare your dinner. Meals can be ordered in advance upon booking! Immerse yourself in this charming, rustic experience as you savor the smokey taste of a fresh grilled meal. 
  • 07:00 PM | Sunset S’mores: Use the communal fire pits at the Resort to meet fellow travelers. Watch the sun dip behind the peaks, painting the valley in the same hues you saw on the downtown murals.

Day 2: Deep Culture in Colorado’s Oldest Town & Ancient Roots

  • 08:00 AM | Breakfast at Crazy Corner Cafe- Authentic, Mexican and American style cuisine can be found on this menu. We recommend sampling a green chile smothered dish to really understand the flavor of the area! 
  • 10:00 AM | Exploring San Luis: Drive south to San Luis, the oldest town in Colorado (established 1851). This is the heart of the valley’s Spanish-Colonial heritage.
  • 11:00 AM | Stations of the Cross: Hike the mesa overlooking the town to see the Stations of the Cross. These are life-sized bronze sculptures by local renowned artist Huberto Maestas. The artistry is world-class, and the panoramic views are spiritual in their own right.
  • 01:30 PM | Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center: Explore the local museum in San Luis to see traditional bultos and retablos (Spanish religious folk art).
  • 04:30 PM | Dinner at Lucha’s Cantina & Speakeasy- Enjoy specialty craft cocktails and mouth watering burgers or tacos in this laid back luchador themed eatery. 
  • 06:30 PM | Return to Rustic Rook: Relax at the glampground. Perhaps enjoy a local brew from one of Alamosa’s craft breweries around the campfire while watching the sun set and later, looking up to the vast, star-filled night sky. 

Day 3: Celestial Wellness & Star Gazing

  • 08:30 AM | Breakfast on site at Rustic Rook Resort- Breakfast can be ordered in advance to allow you to dine on site! Enjoy a slow morning of sipping on your coffee and listening to nature sing around you before packing up to head to your next stay.
  • 11:00 AM | Transition to Kosmos Stargazing Resort & Spa: Move from the rustic charm of glamping to the futuristic luxury of Kosmos. Check into your private villa, designed with a focus on Astro-Tourism.
  • 12:00 PM | Self prepared lunch at the Villa and unwind.
  • 04:00 PM | Breathwork: Join a guided yoga or breathwork session at the resort to align your energy with the quiet desert surroundings. 
  • 05:30 PM | Head into town for dinner at Lindo Jalisco and sample some of the area’s most authentic flavors. 
  • 07:15 PM | Return to Kosmos to top off your relaxing day with a rejuvenating soak in your personal hot tub before you get ready for an epic night of stargazing.
  • 08:30 PM | Luxury Star Gazing your way- Each villa is fit with two telescopes allowing you to view the night sky from your deck or lounging in your private hot tub under a clear dome allowing you to unwind under the stars any time of year..

Day 4: Golden Sands & Modern Moonlight

  • 06:00 AM | Sunrise Photography: The dunes are nature’s greatest sculpture. Capture the light and shadow as the sun rises over the peaks.
  • 08:00 AM | Return to your villa to have a quick breakfast and pack a lunch for your next activity.
  • 10:00 AM | Sandboarding Adventure: Rent a board from Great Sand Dunes Oasis and turn the landscape into your playground.
  • 01:00 PM | Picnic at the dunes: Find a designated picnic area fitted with tables to enjoy your lunch surrounded by the rolling dunes and towering, nearby mountains. 
  • 02:30 PM | Finish exploring the dunes and explore the visitors center before heading back into town for one last dinner in Alamosa.
  • 04:30 PM | Dine at San Luis Valley Brewing company- Enjoy an early dinner at SLV Brewing Co. Sample their farm to table craft beer while you enjoy a local sausage sampler or delicious burger
  • 06:00 PM | Final Spa Soak: Return to Kosmos for a soak in a thermal tub or a session.
  • 08:00 PM | Moonlight Farewell: Spend your final night Participate in an on-site, expert-led star party and guided night sky tour in the observatory. This will include laser-guided constellation tours and live-imaging of celestial objects.
