Road Conditions

Roads in Alamosa and the San Luis Valley region vary from two-lane highways to narrow country roads and mountainous terrain.  All but one route into the San Luis Valley crosses a high mountain pass.  Main roads in and out of the San Luis Valley are well maintained and offer breathtaking scenery at any season. 

Road construction and maintenance happens year-round, so be aware that you may encounter some construction during your visit.
