Committee Goals 2008
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
(President., Vice President, Past President, Treasurer)
Chairperson: Shon Davis, Board of Directors President. 589-8800. shond@slvfed.com
Goals:
- To begin the process of becoming an US Chamber accredited Chamber of Commerce.
- To secure an agreement with the LMDB for Chamber offices in the Gateway Center depot.
- To determine the best utilization of the existing depot at Cole Park
- To develop a formal policies and procedures document for the operation of the Chamber of Commerce.
EVENTS COMMITTEE
Chairperson: Open Posiiton
- To organize the Independence Day parade in downtown Alamosa.
- To organize at least one new major event that attracts overnight visitors to Alamosa
- To organize the Annual Chamber Golf Tournament
- To organize recreational activities for participants in the “100 Years of San Luis Valley Reservoirs” celebration.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Chairperson: James Trujillo, 589-2808, james_trujillo@adams.edu
Goals:
- To produce a Residential and Business Relocation Kit with input and collaboration with the members of the Alamosa City Economic Development Committee, including information about the colleges, agriculture, sustainable resources and the assets of the area.
- To reproduce the Relocation Kit on the www.alamosa.com website.
- To participate in the Alamosa City Economic Development Committee.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Chairperson: Pat Jiron, 589-5118, pjiron@cwfc.net
Goals:
- To educate the Chamber Board of Directors on role, responsibility and mission by providing training.
- To improve customer service in the community by developing and implementing a community host program
- To education, train and boost moral of workforce and employers by facilitating and developing partnerships.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chairperson: Open Position
Goals:
- To redevelop the Member Benefit package including publishing a booklet and loading content onto website.
- To revisit dues structure and fees and make recommendations for appropriate revisions.
- To select one Member each month to highlight in the County Commerce newsletter.
- To develop additional member benefits including group health insurance program, a subscription to assessor records, prescription drug discount program and member to member affinity program.
- To tabulate and analyze results from Member Survey administered by Ambassadors and make recommendations for future years based on results.
- To evaluate the Gift Card Program and determine if Chamber should continue program.
AMBASSADORS
Chairperson: Open Position
Goals:
- To Contact each Chamber Member via phone or a personal visit
- To visit with each new and existing Chamber Member to welcome them, get them involved and insure they understand the programs available to them and complete a member online confidential survey.
- To build the popularity of the Business After Hours program and to include celebrations for Members’ anniversaries and accomplishments.
- To improve and manage ribbon cuttings. To develop and implement an Ambassador Training Program that certifies individuals to be Chamber Ambassadors.
- To provide support services the Board, Staff and other Committees as available.
- To review and update the Ambassadors’ governing documents as a part of the US Chamber accredidation process.
